My friend Nick works for a company in Denver called Effective UI. I don’t know a lot about the company, but I do know that Nick travels a ton and works on some pretty high profile stuff for some big name clients. Outside looking in, it looks pretty sweet to me. Like any good friend would, Nick sent my resume to the marketing department. Turns out they have a position open for a marketing coordinator. I received an email today from their marketing manager to set up a phone interview. Upon setting the time (3:30) I also requested a copy of the job description as they don’t have it posted on their website. I received the job description and carefully read it over. My one fear is that I may be over-qualified for this particular position. Also, their posted salary range is below what I’m looking for. Of course I’m still going to have the phone interview, but I think I might use it as an opportunity to gain more knowledge about the industry to help me in other interviews. Also, if they increased the salary, I would definitely take a more serious look at the job. And who knows, maybe there is an opportunity that I or they don’t even know about. Or maybe there is an opportunity that I could convince them of!
PS When I see and say Effective UI i can’t help but think “infected urinary tract” – i might be a crazy cat lady.
